Koror, Palau – February 3, 2026 — The Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (BCBP) in partnership with the Bureau of Public Safety officially administered the Oath of Office and swore in Customs Officer I, McKinley Emesiochel, as the newest member of BCBP. Prior to this appointment, Customs Officer Emesiochel served for several years as an Administrative Officer I with the Division of Immigration, where he developed an understanding of immigration and customs processes and procedures.
His experience and institutional knowledge will be a valuable asset to the Bureau, particularly during a time of increased operational demands and staffing needs. In line with the Bureau’s efforts to strengthen operability and ensure business continuity, the strategic reassignment of capable officers across divisions allows BCBP to maintain efficiency while preserving institutional capacity.
Customs Officer Emesiochel will be assigned to the ASYCUDA Team, where he will support system functionality, user compliance, and the processing of customs declarations, manifests, and related operational requirements. The Bureau of Customs and Border Protection congratulates Customs Officer I McKinley Emesiochel on his appointment and looks forward to his contributions toward advancing the Bureau’s mission and the broader objectives of the Ministry.
