MHHS Donates Face Masks to Frontline BCBP Officers

On July 22, 2026 – The Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (BCBP) gratefully receives a donation of face masks from the Ministry of Health and Human Services (MHHS). The donation comes amid an increase in respiratory illnesses in Palau, including COVID-19, tuberculosis, pertussis—also known as whooping cough—and other respiratory infections.

The masks will be distributed to frontline BCBP officers as a precautionary measure to help reduce their risk of exposure while performing duties at the airport, other ports of entry, and in the field.

BCBP also encourages the public to practice appropriate health and safety measures to reduce exposure and help prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses. These measures include wearing a mask when appropriate, practicing proper hygiene, covering coughs and sneezes, and seeking medical attention when experiencing symptoms.

BCBP extends its sincere appreciation to MHHS for its continued support and assistance in protecting frontline officers and supporting the Bureau’s daily operations.
