Koror, Palau – The Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (BCBP) is pleased to announce the official handover of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras and a Utility Power Supply system to the Republic of Palau Postal Services, marking another milestone under the Integrated Border Management (IBM) Project.
Through this project, the need for enhanced security and surveillance within the Postal Services was identified. The CCTV systems will supplement existing infrastructure, extending coverage to critical areas and addressing existing blind spots within the Post Office premises. This enhancement not only strengthens the physical security of the facility but also improves monitoring and operational efficiency.
In addition, the provision of a Utility Power Supply will ensure vital backup power to servers and IT equipment – an urgent need previously lacking in the agency. This support will help maintain continuity of operations and safeguard essential digital systems, especially during power outages.
This initiative was made possible through the generous funding of the Government of Japan and the steadfast implementation support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The BCBP extends its deepest appreciation to both partners for their commitment to supporting Palau’s border management goals.
