The donation comes amid an increase in respiratory illnesses in Palau, including COVID-19, tuberculosis, pertussis\u2014also known as whooping cough\u2014and other respiratory infections.<\/p>\n\n<p>The masks will be distributed to frontline BCBP officers as a precautionary measure to help reduce their risk of exposure while performing duties at the airport, other ports of entry, and in the field.<\/p>\n\n<p>BCBP also encourages the public to practice appropriate health and safety measures to reduce exposure and help prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses.
